On Monday Birgit and I decided to have lunch at a farm cafe with a trailspot nearby and it was two degrees below zero. No reason not to play around on our Alutech Wildsau bikes.

Snowy Sunday
A beautiful morning!
January 30, 2011
We woke up in -3 degrees with a heavy sky full of snow!
It started snowing at around 5am and by 9am when we went outside we had about a foot of pure white powder!
Sarah Jax and I played in the white beauty until 11:30 when we trudged back home for a hearty lunch of homemade vegetable soup and pizza.
The video is just of the moring but after lunch the kids wanted to play more so, we headed out to make a snowman and play in the snow which was at about 2 feet by then!
An awesome day of white fun!
But now the at 10pm its about -4 outside and all the snow is jsut crunchy ice!
Tomorrow will be tough!
I have some brews cooling in the snow as we speak and will let tomorrow for tell its path tomorrow!

#30 minutes of Laputa!
On friday I had a little time in the afternoon!
So, I headed out to LaPuta!
With only about 30minutes to ride I mounted the chest cam and started riding!
-The guy in the beginning is my brother in-law. He is responsible for getting me into biking.
When I first came to Japan he said " hey man let get a mountain bike and go riding".
So, I got a 100dollar bike from the local HomeCenter and I was off!
Well, he was very disappointed as he wanted to get a real bike!
But, we rode our 100dollar bikes together for about 2and a half months before I totally destroyed the bike!
However, during that time I picked up a sense of joy.
The fire was lit and we both purchased our first bikes together.
We both go the same GT i-drive 4.0 2002 model.
Very close to Ricardos new GT just a much older model! With only 135mm of rear travel. hahaha.
Well, to make a long story short, he stopped riding after a huge crash.
Coming down the DH run from my last video (icy wind) he ran into a chain blocking the road and flew off the bike landing on he head.
He was knocked into oblivion and there was blood everywhere.
He stopped riding and I continued on and progressed into the rider I am today!

Monte Escuro (Dark Mountain) Trail
Massive...huge...dangerous...fun...adrenaline pumping...GT Force premiere...my first time...this day was a rolercoaster of emotions brothers! This is only the first part of the trail...will edit the 2nd part now...
The bike handled itself pretty good, considerating it was my first time on top of it and on a new trail...I loved it!

Piesberg Trails
Our first but surly not our last ride on the Piesberg trails, a downhill location only sixty kilometers from home! The bikes are an Alutech Wildsau Hardride FR and an Alutech Wildsau Trail XA! Also starring a local rider on his white Nicolai Helius!

An XC day!
"2 hours from my door to the top of the mountain and back to my door!
This is one of the first trails I found here in Japan back in 2001. Then it was a long windy single track that gave me hours of enjoyable fun. Now they are making a new tunnel here and they have completely
destroyed the natural beauty of this mountain! I was devastated to see how much nature is being up heaved but the production of an unnecessary tunnel.
On a good note the Rune proved itself as a great contender tackling both the rigors of a nasty rocky climb and decent. This weekend looks like we have a snow storm rolling in so I wanted to get another ride in!

Here in Japan was a super cold windy day with some light snow.
I had work all morning and on my lunch break Hirothing and I took off to the park!
It was really fun for just an hour!
After which I ran back home and continued my classes.

Fontana Pracetice Race Serie #2

This was Fontana Practice Race Saturday 22th.2011.After two weeks out of my bike i came to the practice with my friend Damian (tundra1 on pinkbike.com)the course was great and very slippery.Love fontana Race because you do something different in the week,riding with more people,every race is a different course,very nice place.i had a fall,like always haa.well like it say at the end of this video falls are part of the riding.but i am fine.ready for the next one.

RideOn Japan!!
This last weekend I was busy but the boys went out to play!
Gumball had a good ride on Saturday with Mae at the Nuki jumps!
Then on Sunday as well they had about 6 dudes gather to ride Ajimi AJ.
Gumball has been trying out many new and very cool angles!

The drop in the beginning is at the bottom of the trail.
It was the very first ladder we built. Its a nice drop to a smooth transition. Its about 2meters maybe a little higher. Its our suspension tester drop hahhaha!

He is using the seat post mount which came out really cool!

Piesberg Exploration
Sunday was cold and wet and the trails were too muddy to ride our bikes. So we spent three and a half hours exploring the Piesberg, hiking all the way round the mountain looking for trails. The Piesberg is a hill where a group of local riders are about to build freeride trails. The Piesberg freeride project's aim is to have brand new freeride trails in 2011, right now the state of the trails is deplorable.

Yesterday January 15, 2011 was a cold bitter day full of rain and snow!
Not conditions for riding but, we were in luck as Momo was in need of assistance.
For the last 3 months Momo has been riding my old beat up crack and bent top tube Bottlerockt.
That shows how strong it is. So, over winter break Momo pick up a part time jop selling fish.
He was able to save just enough money to be the bike of his dreams.
The bottlerocket!
A very burly stiff bike with a personality of acceptance.
We spent all day yesterday building is bike to his particular needs!
I had to provide alot of parts to fulfill the build and it help to create a bombproof FR rig!

We took a shower, ate and grabbed out sleighs.

A snow ride here in Japan!
We had some good snowfall this last week and the mountains are white!
Im still out with some hurt ribs but the boy old and new went for a cool ride!
Gumball put together a great video full of high speed snow fun on 2 wheels with some hair crashes.
Manny Im sorry if you cant watch the youtube footage as thats all gumball has!

Sunday was an awesome riding day!
We woke up at 8:30 and rode untill 15:00! We had a blast, found new trails, my buddy Sérgio had his premiere on the Mondraker Prayer and he loved it (all but the crashes, hahahaha!)
I got to test my Dune with the new setup and our new trailer!

Two crazy guys...

Sunday, it poored the whole morning and most of the afternoon...was at home, sad for not riding...at 4 p.m. my buddy called me, the weather got better, and we went for a ride...with hardtails...took my Chucker to Lajes trail, wich was in very bad conditions...crashed...but we had so much fun!

2011 is here!
Happy to all and to all good year!
As for my I have a new Rune to celebrate the coming of 2011!
I praise the goodness of mankind as I was blessed with a new frame for no charge as my previous rune cracked on me!
This new beauty is all black with orange links!
I hope I have the time to heal up nicely and get my groove on with the new bike!
The trials here in Japan are usually cold and either very muddy or very grippy through winter!
Giving the fact we have been dealt a great amount of snow and rain this last week and a half, and I can see the mountains still covered in white goodness Im assuming the trials are a muddy mess!

Rainy day... :(
waited the whole week to ride...but the weather is pretty bad...pretty bad indeed...lots of rain...some earth slides...winter is begining in Azores...Although I have sweet trails where I live...at the same time it's bad, 'cause the bad weather strikes first in the higher regions of the island...
Can't do much, but to take some pics of my rigs and play Downhill Domination...
