New Springs!

2-23-11
Momo came over early Wednesday morning, Luckily I had no work, hahahahha

We overhauled his 66 ata.
The ata is an adjustable air damper that works smooth but Momo coming from a fully hard no suspension trial bike runs his suspension front and rear really hard. He weighs less than me and runs it harder than my bike, hahahahah
So, the 66 being pumped all the way up to 120-130 psi for Momo liking was good but inconsistent where he needs it!
The beginning stroke was firm and the bottom out was nice but the mid stroke felt a little lacking.
So, I added 30mm of chewy like sponge to the air damper creating a smaller chamber still allowing for 180mm of full travel but making the spring rate much more progressive.
Then on the RC3 damper side which holds the high and low speed compression and rebound damper  I added a stiff coil spring.
In correlation the coil and air spring work together providing a stiff stable stroke the stars off plush and ramps up to a firm bottom.
Momo went from 120-130 psi to 50psi with the addition of the spring.
This allows for a much smoother action of the fork as the air pressure has a lot less stress on the seals.
All in All we did a good job and after lunch went to the nearby Laputa jumps for a test ride!

I had work from 5pm so we had just 2 hours to ride and film.
I was just going to ride but Momo wanted to see a video so we took out the handy Gopro!
the first scene up to the wall ride you can see the new section we spent all day last Sunday building!
It starts with a log jump right into a berm which bends around to a cool pump track like section.
The we pop the jump and ride the wall!
We have lots of plans for this trial so please give your input if you feel you have some positive advice!
As of now with the new section the trial is super fast flowy and very heart pounding! ahahhaha
